Announcement of Report from the Study Group on Network Architecture

MIC has held meetings of the Study Group on Network Architecture (Chair: Prof. TOKUDA Hideyuki, Keio University) since January 2007 to discuss the concept of a new-generation network, technical issues required for its implementation, and promotion measures.
MIC hereby announces the report compiled recently by the Study Group on Network Architecture as the result of such discussions.

[Background]
Along with advancement in IP-based networks and ubiquitous networks, current network issues, such as service quality and security measures, have been revealed. Europe and the USA have begun to discuss new-generation network technologies that look forward to the next decade. It is necessary to consider new networks at an early stage in order to secure Japan's future international competitiveness in the ICT field.
Based on such a background, MIC has held meetings of the Study Group on Network Architecture (Chair: Prof. TOKUDA Hideyuki, Keio University) since January 2007 to discuss the concept of a new-generation network, technical issues required for its implementation, and promotion measures.
MIC therefore announces the report compiled recently by the Study Group on Network Architecture as the result of such discussions.
