Results of Public Comment on Draft Partial Amendment of the Regulations for Enforcement of the Telecommunications Business Law, Etc.

Development of the related ordinances towards the introduction of FMC (Fixed-Mobile Convergence) services
From July 25 to August 24, 2007, MIC invited public comment on the draft partial amendment of the Regulations for Enforcement of the Telecommunications Business Law (MPT Ordinance No. 25 of 1985), etc. MIC now discloses the comment it received, together with the MIC opinion thereon.

1. Outline of the amendment
MIC will amend the Regulations for Enforcement of the Telecommunications Business Law, etc. to keep track of FMC service providers and uses of the services.

2. Results of the public comment procedure
MIC invited public comment on the draft amendment from July 25 to August 24, 2007, and received one comment.

3. Future schedule
MIC will promptly consider the contributed comment and amend the related ordinances. Meanwhile, in regard to the telecommunications numbers for the provision of FMC services, MIC has consulted the Telecommunications Council on the draft MIC ordinance to amend part of the Regulations for Telecommunications Numbers and received its report today.
