Results of Public Comment Invited on Draft MIC Notice to Partially
Amend MIC Notice Specifying Simple Operations that
Do Not Require Licensed Radio Operator

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) invited public comment on the partial amendment to the notice specifying simple operations that do not require licensed radio operators, from Wednesday, March 26 to Friday, April 25, 2008.

MIC received four comments, and now discloses those comments together with its opinion.

Based on the results of the invitation to comment, MIC will finalize the amendment quickly.

1. Details of amendment
The operations of radio equipment of broadcasting stations for terrestrial digital TV broadcasting that relay broadcasting programs of other broadcasting stations, and for which the antenna power is 0.05 W or less, will be specified as simple operations that do not require licensed radio operators.

2. Future schedule
Based on the results of the comment invitation, MIC will quickly finalize the partial amendment of the notice to specify simple operations that do not require licensed radio operators.
