Public Comment Invited on Fourth Interim Report from Telecommunications Council, Optimal Utilization of Digital Terrestrial Broadcasting and Roles of Administration toward Penetration Thereof (on Inquiry No. 8 of 2004)

On January 28, 2004, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) consulted the Telecommunications Council on optimal utilization of digital terrestrial broadcasting and roles of administration toward penetration thereof (Inquiry No. 8 of 2004). MIC received the fifth interim report from the Council on June 27, 2008, which follows its fourth interim report of last August. MIC hereby invites public comment on the interim report.

1. Background
The Council established the Terrestrial Digital Broadcasting Promotion Committee (Chair: Prof. MURAI Jun, Keio University) under its Telecommunications Policy Sub-Council to conduct studies for the inquiry. As the Council has recently compiled its fifth interim report, MIC now invites public comment thereon.
