Decision to Offer Additional Subsidies in the FY2008 Scheme for Supporting ICT Human Resources Training Business

Yokosuka Telecom Research Park, Inc. (YRP), an organization for supporting the ICT Human Resources Training Business, decided on September 9 to offer additional subsidies concerning the FY2008 Scheme for Supporting ICT Human Resources Training Business.

The Scheme for Supporting ICT Human Resources Training Business is intended to offer part of the expenses on the ICT Human Resources Training Business to third-sector corporations, public-interest corporations, or NPOs in order to develop human resources who have specialized knowledge and skills in the ICT field.

For this scheme, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) invited applications from organizations to support the business and decided on YRP (announced on March 31, 2008). Subsidized by MIC, YRP conducts clerical work, including inviting proposals on the ICT Human Resources Training Business, and provides subsidies to selected proposals.

From July 1 to August 6, 2008, YRP invited a second round of proposals on the business to be subsidized. As the result of examining the applications, it decided which organizations would be offered additional subsidies.

(Result of selection)
No. of applicants: 28
