The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has organized the Study Group Concerning the Support of Ecology in the Information Communication Field (Chairman: NIMI Ikufumi, Professor of Meiji University) from November 4, 2008, which has studied the promotion of ICT equipment and services to reduce the amount of CO2 emitted, and the 3 R's (reduce, reuse, and recycle) regarding mobile phones.

The study results of the Study Group Concerning the Support of Ecology in the Information Communication Field have been put together into a report that will be published.
