Order for the Implementation of Measures against Specific Electronic Mail Act Violators

The Ministry of Affairs and Communications (MIC) as of June 2, has ordered that measures be taken against Holy Ace (Tokyo Shibuya Ward) for transmitting electronic mail advertisements for a website called Siena Beauty which sells beauty related products and diet supplements, for violating the Act (Act No. 26 of 2002) based on the Act on Regulation of Transmission of Specified Electronic Mail.

Outline

The Act on Regulation of Transmission of Specified Electronic Mail, according to Article 2 No.2 of the same act, states that the transmission of specified electronic email to persons or consignors that have not agreed or requested the mail shall not be sent. In addition, it is stipulated that names and other fixed information of the sender be correctly displayed when sending specific electronic email.
