The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) accepted comments from April 15 to May 15, 2009 concerning the draft MIC ordinance to partially amend the regulations for enforcement of the radio act to help promote the use of electronic applications for radio station licenses, and received a total of 16 comments.

The MIC is planning to enact the ordinance based on the results of the comments received.

Background of the revision

The MIC has been working to raise the rate of utilization for electronic applications concerning radio station licenses and reissuing from the current 34.7% (Results for 2008), to the target value set by the “Online Use Expansion Action Plan” (IT Strategic Headquarters Decision, September 12th, 2008) of 70% by the end of 2013.
