The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has been inviting applications for products that will use eco-points, in an effort to 1) promote measures against global warming, 2) vitalize the economy, 3) and promote the spread of televisions that support digital broadcasting, through the Operations to Promote the Spread of Energy-Saving Electronics by Utilizing Eco-Points, implemented by the 2009 revised budget operations. The businesses that will offer products for exchange and those products have been chosen after an investigation by a third party committee.
