The telecommunications consumer consultation center under the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) receives complaints, requests for consultation concerning telecommunications services from users.
The total number of complaints and requests for consultation, etc. received in FY2008 and their descriptions have been presented.
The number of complaints and requests for consultation received at the telecommunications consumer consultation center in FY2008 was 5,670, an increase of 792 cases (16.2%) from the previous year.
The total number of complaints and requests for consultation concerning telecommunications services received at MIC, including via its Regional Bureaus of Telecommunications, was 10,943, an increase of 883 cases (8.8%) over the previous fiscal year.
The MIC will continue striving to protect the interests of telecommunications service users by providing them with information through public relations activities and giving instructions and requests to telecommunications carriers and others as needed.
