The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) developed draft MIC ordinances to partially amend the Regulations for Chief Telecommunications Engineer and the Rules for Installation Technician as well as draft MIC notices to partially amend related MIC notices in order to allow commercial corporations to provide training courses for acquiring chief telecommunications engineer qualifications and installation technician qualifications
The MIC plans to quickly establish these ordinances based on the results of the comments received.
Background to the amendment
MIC received a report compiled by the Study Group on IP Network Management and Human Resources (Chair: Prof. GOTO Shigeki, School of Science and Engineering, Waseda University), which conducted a study from April 2008 until February 2009. In response to the report, MIC considered a review of the chief telecommunications engineer system, etc., and decided to amend part of the Regulations for Chief Telecommunications Engineer as well as other related ordinances and notices.
