-Market Share Made Up of NTT East and NTT West Line Subscribers-

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) will publish the totaled results reported from telecommunications operators concerning the conditions of fixed terminal line equipment as of the end of FY2008, based on Article 3, paragraph 1 of the Rules for Reporting on Telecommunications Business (MPT Ordinance No. 46 of 1988).

The total amount of subscribers has decreased over the previous year slightly from 91.0% to 90.0% due to the implications of fiber optic and cable TV lines. However, the market share of fiber optic lines has largely stayed the same for NTT East and West increasing only 0.1% from 78.9% to 78.8%.
