The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has decided the candidate to entrust the Ubiquitous Zone Project (Improvement of Local Information Transmissions Project) on June 3, 2009. Proposals will be accepted a second time for this project in order to vitalize local economics by improving local information transmissions and to reduce the amount of consumed power necessary to operate the internet by largely shortening the distance of individual transmissions of the domestic internet.

Proposals were accepted from February 13 to March 13, 2009 regarding the Ubiquitous Zone Project (Improvement of Local Information Transmissions Project), and the candidate to entrust the project was decided on June 3, 2009.
