The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) accepted applications from candidates starting on April 30 to May 22, 2009 for the 3rd project decided on March 11, 2009, to promote ubiquitous zone projects that will strengthen the international competitiveness of the ICT industry in Japan.
The candidate to entrust the project was chosen based on evaluations undertaken by outside experts.
Outline of the project
Using the international advantages that the ubiquitous network technology in Japan possesses, the MIC aims to strengthen the international competitiveness of Japan’s ICT industry by intensively implementing ubiquitous zone projects mainly in local areas that will meet the world demand for the development of ICT services and verification projects.
