Holding of a Seminar for ISP's Concerning
Countermeasures for the BOT Project

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) is conducting a joint operation with the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry for actions to quickly and effectively stop cyber attacks against computers by BOT programs (Note: 1).
Therefore, the MIC and Telecom-ISAC Japan will be holding two seminars in Japan with the purpose of expanding the number of ISP'S (Note: 2) who would cooperate and like to be involved in the project, and to promote understanding regarding this project.
The MIC looks forward to the furtherance of broad and effective countermeasures against BOT's with a great number of ISP's becoming involved with this project.

Note 1: A BOT, which is a certain kind of computer virus, is a program created with the purpose of infecting computers to control them through a network (internet) by an outside source.

Note 2: The term ISP (Internet Service Provider), are companies or organizations that offer services to connect to the internet.
