Results of Public Opinion and the Inquiry to the Radio Regulatory Council Regarding the Ministry Ordinance Proposal to Partially Revise the Regulations Concerning the Technical Regulations Conformity Certification of the Radio Act Enforcement Regulations, Wireless Equipment Regulations and Special Wireless Equipment

- Development of Related Provisions Regarding the Introduction of Affordable International VHF Wireless Equipment for Voluntary Placement in Vessels –

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has today received a response from the Radio Regulatory Council (Chairman: Junichi HAMADA, President of Tokyo University) regarding the ministry ordinance proposals for the partial revision of regulations concerning the technical regulations conformity certification of the Radio Act Enforcement Regulations, Wireless Equipment Regulations and Special Wireless Equipment for the introduction of affordable international VHF wireless equipment for voluntary placement in vessels, which stated that the original proposal was appropriate.
The MIC accepted public comments regarding the inquired ministry ordinance proposal and related proposals from May 13 to June 12th, 2009, and received a total of 3 comments.
The related ordinances will be revised by the MIC based on the content of the response and the public comments.
