Revision of the Investigation Standards of a Radio Station for Firefighters

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has created a partial revision proposal of related investigation standards of the Radio Act concerning a radio station for firefighters in order to promote the facilitate operations of the radio station for firefighters.
Therefore, the MIC will be accepting public comments from today until August 10, 2009.

Outline

The shared national frequencies allocated (digital radio) for use by mutual firefighting organizations will be changed from 1 to 3 in the event that their activities will cross over prefectural borders in order to facilitate the support activities of mutual firefighting organizations during a large scale disaster.
