Publication of the 2009 White Paper
"Information and Communications in Japan"

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) distributed the 2009 White Paper, "Information and Communications in Japan," at the Cabinet meeting held on Friday, July 10, 2009 and published the document.

         "Information and Communications in Japan" has been published yearly by the MIC since 1973 in order to gain the public's understanding of the current situation concerning information and communications in Japan and the trend in information and communications policies. The document counts this year's issue as its 37th.
         Under the title of "Why is ICT essential for Japan’s revival? ," this year's white paper features study and analysis on the contribution of ICT(Information and Communication Technology) to economic growth at the world economic crisis.
         "Information and Communications in Japan" will be published as follows.
