Inviting of Public Comments Regarding the Revision of Guidelines Concerning the Use of Utility Poles and Pipe Lines of Public Utilities


The Information and Communications Council has today received an inquiry from the Minister of Internal Affairs regarding the revisions to the Guidelines Concerning the Use of Utility Poles and Pipe Lines of Public Utilities.

Therefore, public comments will be accepted from today, January 19 to Friday, February 19, 2010 regarding this revision proposal.

Background

These guidelines (notification) are negotiated approvals and findings of operating standards in Article 128 of the Telecommunications Business Act and have the purpose of promoting the establishment of a fiber optic network through telecommunications companies and the smooth laying of a pathway for the network.

Additional revisions will be made based on these results every year on April 1st in addition to the investigation regarding the amount of progress in equipment use.
