The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has revised the General Digital Broadcasting Promotion Measures which puts together the policies that should be implemented in the future in anticipation of the total transition to digital broadcasting on July 24, 2011. This was reported to the People’s Digital Broadcasting Movement Promotion Headquarters held today.
Background
Television broadcasts are scheduled to completely change over from analog to digital broadcasting by July 24, 2011.
The MIC has put together policies which should be implemented in anticipation of the total transition to digital broadcasting since July of last year, along with the General Digital Broadcasting Promotion Measures.
The expenditures necessary for the implementation of measures for this edition were included in the 2009 2nd supplemental budget and 2010 budget proposal, while the General Digital Broadcasting Promotion Measures were revised and were reported to the People’s Digital Broadcasting Movement Promotion Headquarters held today.
The MIC will continue to cooperate with those concerned parties in the future to fully implement the general measures and confirm that all citizens are able to complete the transition to digital broadcasting to be able to continue watching television.
