BRIEF OVERALL PROJECT SUMMARY:

(1)Fabrication of model system intergrating such media as CATV and radio communications in order to perform relevant technological development that are neededto utilize advanced comprehensive anti-disaster information communications network system. Relevant communications network is supposed to be capable of suppoerting swift information collection efforts and of ensuring secure administrative decisions in the havoc immediately follwing a great earthquake
(2) summarizes of technological developments that will be implemented in the model system
((1)) Development of technologies to apply video communications to anti-disaster administration immediately after a disaster
((2)) Comprehensive systems development to ensure safety and reliability of communications and totally eliminate such cimmunications problems during a disaster like communications line congestion

PROJECT OBJECTIVES:

Development by Telecommunications Advancement Organization of Japan of a model system in favor of localgoverment. The model system is intended to facilitate development of an advanced comprehensive administrative information communications network system that will facilitate swift information collection and optimal administrative decisions in a disaster. The system is potentially applicable to total anti-disaster administration management as well.

EXPECTED/ACTUAL RESULTS:

Establishment of information communications technologies thatwill be instrumental to the formulation of an anti-disaster information cimmunications system applicable to all local goverment requirements throughout in Japan
