There will be no changes in the administration of post office services following the reorganization of central government ministries and agencies on January 6, 2001.
- You will be able to continue using the stamps, postcards, passbooks, records, cash cards, life insurance certificates you already hold without any changes, even after January 6, 2001.
- In addition, post offices will use post office forms with or without the modification of the designation "Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications" or "Minister of Posts and Telecommunications" after January 6, 2001. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
Administration of licenses and permits issued by the Minister of Posts and Telecommunications
All valid certificates, licenses and permits currently held will continue to remain valid following the reorganization of central government ministries and agencies on January 6, 2001.
The administration of licenses, permits and other documents issued by the Minister of Posts and Telecommunications (including permit and license matters administered by the Regional Bureau of Telecommunications and the Okinawa Office of Posts and Telecommunications) will be handled as follows, based upon the Law to Implement the Law Concerning Reform of Central Government Ministries and Agencies ( proclaimed December 22, 1999).
- As a general rule, all licenses, permits, authorizations, approvals, designations and other measures or notices and other matters administered by central government organizations such as the Minister of Posts and Telecommunications before the reorganization will be regarded as matters performed by the equivalent organization such as the Minister for Public Management, Home Affairs, Posts and Telecommunications as of January 6, 2001. (Accordingly, all licenses, permits, authorizations, approvals, designations and other notices and matters received from the Minister of Posts and Telecommunications will continue to remain valid as official documents received from the Minister for Public Management, Home Affairs, Posts and Telecommunications as of January 6, 2001).
- As a general rule, all applications, notifications and other similar documents submitted to the Minister of Posts and Telecommunications before the reorganization shall be regarded as applications, notifications and other similar documents submitted to the Minister for Public Management, Home Affairs, Posts and Telecommunications as of January 6, 2001.
