Chapter II-2 The University of the Air Foundation
(Compilation of Broadcast Program, etc.)
Article 50-2.
(1)
The provisions of Article 3-2 paragraph (2), Article 3-3, Article 3-4, Article 6-2, Article 52-13 paragraph (1) item v) (only the part related to a)-c) ), Article 52-15 paragraph (2), Article 52-18, Article 52-20, and Article 52-28 shall not apply to the University.
(2)
In the event Article 3-2 paragraphs (1), (3) and (4), Article 4 paragraph (1) and (2), Article 6, and Article 52-26 are applied to the University in undertaking broadcast programming operations ( Article 3-2 paragraphs (1), (3) and (4) shall be excluded when the provisions of the subsequent paragraph are applicable), ''domestic broadcasting'' in Article 3-2 paragraphs (1), (3) and (4) shall read as ''entrusted domestic broadcasting''; ''broadcasting'' in Article 3-2 paragraph (3) shall read as ''entrusting to broadcast''; ''broadcast'' in Article 4 paragraph (1) shall read as ''entrust broadcasting''; ''broadcast matter'' in the same paragraph shall read as ''matters entrusted to broadcast''; ''shall broadcast'' in the same paragraph shall read as ''shall entrust to broadcasting''; ''its broadcasting'' in Article 4 paragraph (2) shall read as ''entrusted broadcasting''; ''shall not'' in Article 6 shall read as ''shall not entrust''; ''upon receiving a notice of abolition of business according to the stipulations of Article 52-20'' in Article 52-26 shall read as ''upon approval to abolish broadcast programming operations in accordance with the stipulations of Article 50-3 paragraph (1) which are mutatis mutandis applicable to under Article 50-3 paragraph (3)''.

The provisions of Article 3-2 paragraphs (1), (3) and (4) shall be applied to the University that entrusts others to carry out entrusted domestic and overseas broadcasting, as the entrusted domestic and overseas broadcasting is considered entrusted domestic broadcasting. In this case, ''the domestic broadcasting'' in Article 3-2 paragraphs (1), (3) and (4) shall read as ''the entrusted domestic broadcasting''; ''in compiling and broadcasting'' in Article 3-2 paragraph (3) shall read as ''in compiling and entrusting to broadcast''.

(Suspension and Abolition of Broadcasting etc.)
Article 50-3.
(1)
The University shall not abolish any of its broadcasting stations or suspend the broadcasting thereof for more than twelve hours without the prior approval of the Minister of Posts and Telecommunications. However, this shall not apply to the cases caused by vis major.
(2)
In case the University has suspended its broadcasting, it shall, excepting the case where the prior approval mentioned in the preceding paragraph is given, report to that effect to the Minister of Posts and Telecommunications without delay.
(3)
The provision in the preceding two paragraphs shall apply mutatis mutandis, to the suspension and abolition of the University's broadcast programming operations when the University carries them out.

(Prohibition of Advertisement Broadcasting etc.)
Article 50-4.
(1)
The University shall not broadcast advertisements of others' business activities.
(2)
The provision of the preceding paragraph shall, in case when necessary for compiling of broadcast programs and when regarded as not for advertisement related to anyone's commercial business, not preclude the broadcasting of the name or title of an author or trader.
(3)
The provisions in the preceding two paragraphs shall apply mutatis mutandis to the University carrying out the University's broadcast programming operations. In this case, the term ''broadcast'' in paragraph (1) shall read as ''entrust broadcasting'', and the phrase ''the broadcasting of the name or title of an author or trader'' in the preceding paragraph shall read as ''entrusting of the broadcasting of the name or title of an author or trader''.
