Various tests will be conducted aimed at the coming multimedia age, utilizing a high-speed backbone network that has already been established, in cooperation with information providers, manufacturers, and users.PROJECT OBJECTIVES:
New applications will be created and developed by coordinating network, user facilities , and software which are essential in the multimedia age. NTT will also establish network design and management technologies to cope with application.EXPECTED/ACTUAL RESULTS:
Turning user applications created in the tests to practical use should contribute to the development of multimedia applications.TARGET GROUPS:

127 groups consisting of corporates and public research institutes are participating aiming at the creation and development of various multimedia applications.USE OF INFORMATION/TELEMATIC TECHNOLOGIES:
High-speed backbone network are composed of super-high-speed transmission route, for example 2.4 Gbit/s, and user network interfaces at maximum speed of 156 Mbit/s are available.
