BRIEF OVERALL PROJECT SUMMARY:
IUWDS is a permanent service of URSI, IAU, IUGG and FAGS. IUEDS network performs rapid exchange of prompt solar-terrestrial observational data and forecasts all over the world using computer network.
PROJECT OBJECTIVES:
Co-ordinating the rapid exchange of solar- terrestrial data and forecasts
between organizations around the world who are involved in forecasting
solar-terrestrial conditions.
EXPECTED/ACTUAL RESULTS:
Real time monitoring of solar-terrestrial activity is needed to detect hazardous space environment for manned space activity in space, and provide for reliable satellite operation.
TARGET GROUPS:-
PARTNERS/ACTORS IN THE PROJECT:
CRL(MPT)
USE OF INFORMATION/TELEMATIC TECHNOLOGIES:
Forecasts and real-time data on space weather are used not only by satellite operators but also by powerline, pipeline, and cable communication companies.
