The G7 Digital and Tech Ministers’ MeetingStakeholders’ Conference on Digital Technologies for Trust

The Digital Agency, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) will host “Stakeholders' Conference on Digital Technologies for Trust,” as a related event of the G7 Digital and Tech Ministers’ Meeting, on March 29, 2023, at the Tokyo Prince Hotel.

About this conference

At this conference, we will introduce the efforts to ensure “trust” for the concrete operationalization of data free flow with trust (DFFT), including specific use cases and technologies/mechanisms that are expected to be implemented in the future.

Sessions 1-3 will introduce the use case of international collaboration of CO2 emission data in the supply chain, using e-seal as an example of how to ensure the authenticity of data to achieve carbon neutrality and will also introduce equivalent initiatives in the EU and India.

Sessions 4-6 will introduce policy efforts and on-going use cases that enhance trust in data exchange through the use of digital technologies such as distributed digital identity and credentials.

The panel will discuss the goal and approach of as well as international collaboration among these policy initiatives by G7 member countries.

Session 7 will introduce the efforts to operationalize DFFT in order to enhance transparency to facilitate cross-border distribution of data by CEO. Johannes Fritz who developed the Digital Policy Alert in St. Gallen Endowment.

Many government officials from G7 countries, invitees, organisations, companies and academic groups involved in trust services will be participating, so if you are interested, please register for participation.
