When using communal reception facilities (with another building)

Digital terrestrial broadcasting is resistant to reception interference, so signals can often be received directly even if buildings or other obstacles are present.
Please consult with the operator of the shared reception system in your area.
When using communal reception facilities (with another building)
If direct reception is possible
We recommend that you install a individual antenna for terrestrial digital broadcasts.
To receive signals individually, you must install a UHF antenna.
For details, please refer to the section on "When using an individual antenna."
If direct reception is not possible
You can use the connection to the shared reception facilities, or you can switch to cable TV. When using the shared reception facilities, some modifications may be required.

As a rule, issues involving digital broadcast compatibility of shared reception facilities (modification methods, burden of expenses, etc.) are resolved through independent deliberations between the parties involved; that is, the owner of the facilities and the person wishing to receive the signals.

In either case, you will need either a DTV ready TV, a terrestrial digital tuner, or a recording device with a built-in terrestrial digital tuner.
