Exhibition on “Adoption of ICT throughout Society for 2020”
○Today, information and communications technology (ICT) plays an important role in economic and social growth, and is an indispensable part of people’s lives.
○The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) is advancing study aimed at promoting the adoption of ICT throughout society, with a view to the 2020 Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games and to Japan’s sustainable growth following the Games. MIC is also taking advantage of the 2020 Games to disseminate Japan’s state-of-art technology to the world and to push forward various measures aimed at improving the ICT infrastructure for foreign visitors.
○Recently, in time for the G7 ICT Ministers’ Meeting in Takamatsu, Kagawa, an exhibition on the various measures MIC is working on has been organized in cooperation with associated businesses and organizations. We would like to invite you to see the latest ICT for 2020.

Multi-lingual Display System with Transit Card
Additional utilization of a pervasive transit smart card for inbound tourists ? not only for public transportation or smart payment in town, but also for displaying customized information, such as language and character size, by simply tapping the card on the multi-lingual digital signage terminal
TV Closed Caption Translation Set Top Box
In addition to the digital terrestrial receiving, it has the translation ability of the closed caption with the assisting translation server, and this would offer to the foreign tourists the hearty hospitality.

HTML5 enables Next Generation TV Service
When going abroad , or when people from foreign countries living in Japan, there exist a language barrier on watching TV. Broadcasters are now working to eliminate this barrier in collaboration with web services. We would like to introduce one of such activities.

Realization of "Omotenashi" System for Foreign Tourists using Speech Translation and Visual Information.
Concept of bridge inspection support solution
To support efficient bridge inspection and appropriate management operation, such as maintenance program planning and damage monitoring, by ICT.
Ocean Surface Radar for Tsunami Surveillance
The information of long-range and wide-area surveillance by the radar with HF radio wave is delivered by Digital signages and ICT. This contributes to ensure more evacuation times. Tsunami Height Estimation and Flood Hazard Map Update technology are expected to provide more secure evacuation guidence.

World’s first cooperative ITS, “ITS Connect”
TOYOTA launched world’s first driving support system "ITS Connect" in October, 2015. This system uses 760MHz band radio communications.
TOYOTA will promote“ITS Connect” with a view to global expansion in cooperation with industries and government agencies.

NICT is promoting Wi-SUN global standard that supports low-energy operations and multi-hop communications. NICT?s interest includes Wi-SUN expansions that enable the future diversified services including IoT.
Wearable EEG system
Our wearable EEG system is very easy to use because our system does not need to use the conductive paste. Moreover, the EEG data is transmitted via wireless connection. Thus, we can record EEG easily in naturalistic environment by using our system.
Cyber security technology
NICTER is an integrated security system for countering cyberattacks based on a large-scale darknet monitoring, an automated malware analysis and their correlation. DAEDALUS is a cyberattack alert system based on a large-scale darknet monitoring facility of NICTER. Alert will be sent immediately when NICTER receives an attacking packet form a cooperative organization. NIRVANA-Kai is security platform for countering Advanced Persistent Threat.
