The Environmental Dispute Coordination Commission is an administrative commission set up on July 1, 1972, under Article 3 of the National Government Organization Act by integrating the Land Coordination Commission (set up on January 31, 1951) and the Central Pollution Examination Commission (set up on November 1, 1970).
The Commission has duties to: (1) resolve environmental disputes through mediation, conciliation, arbitration, and adjudication promptly and appropriately (Environmental Dispute Settlement System), (2) coordinate mining, quarrying, or gravel gathering with general public interest or other industries (Land Use Coordination System).

Fire and Disaster Management Agency(FDMA)

  • 1) Under normal circumstances, the FDMA prevents or mitigates damage due to fires, earthquakes, storms, floods, and other natural disasters by reforming the programs for fire defense and disaster prevention, training firefighters and volunteer fire fighters, and engaging in related activities.
  • 2) In case of emergencies, the FDMA serves as the commander for disaster countermeasures by performing operations for Emergency Fire Response Teams and by coordinating liaisons with the Official Residence of the Prime Minister, interested ministries and agencies, and local associations.
