October 7, 2015 Signing of Joint Statement between Japan and Turkey on Cooperation in ICT Field

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) and the Information and Communication Technologies Authority of Turkey reached an agreement on cooperation in information and communications technology (ICT) and signed a joint statement at MIC on Wednesday, October 10 (signed by Vice-Minister Sakamoto for Policy Coordination, MIC, and Chairman Sayan of the Information and Communication Technologies Authority, Turkey). The statement includes concerted approach in discussions at international organizations, e.g., the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), and expansion of the private sectors of Japan and Turkey to reinforce the cooperation between the countries in 5th generation (5G) mobile networks for the commercialization of 5G mobile networks by the time the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics are held in 2020, in particular.
