July 7, 2015 Results of Talks between MIC Minister Sanae Takaichi and Vietnamese Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Bac Son

Minister Sanae Takaichi for Internal Affairs and Communications held talks with Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Bac Son of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, who was visiting Japan, and confirmed the further promotion of cooperation between Japan and Vietnam in the ICT field.
Following the talks, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) of Japan and the Ministry of Information and Communications of Vietnam signed a memorandum of understanding on the radio regulatory field under the presence of Minister Nguyen Bac Son and State Minister Kosaburo Nishime for Internal Affairs and Communications. Japan Post Co., Ltd. and Vietnam Postal Services Company signed a memorandum of understanding on the postal field at the same time.

Ministerial Talks

Minister Sanae Takaichi of Internal Affairs and Communications and Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Bac Son Son held talks, and confirmed the further promotion of the cooperation between both countries in the ICT field, including radio regulatory, postal services, broadcast contents, and next-generation broadcasting.

Signing Ceremonies of Memorandums of Understanding

In response to talks, the following two memorandums of agreement were signed under the presence of Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Bac Son and Minister of Communications and State Minister Kosaburo Nishime for Internal Affairs and Communications.

1. Memorandum of understanding on the radio regulatory field

MIC and Ministry of Information and Communications of Vietnam signed a memorandum of understanding to the effect that will provide cooperation activities, including information exchange, human resource development, and international organizational collaboration, in order to promote the long-term, stable cooperative relationship between the countries in the radio regulatory field.

2. Memorandum of understanding on cooperation concerning consulting agreement between Japan Post Co., Ltd. and Vietnam Postal Services Company

Japan Post Co., Ltd. and Vietnam Postal Services Company signed a memorandum of agreement in order to advance their consulting agreement signed on June 25, 2013, for the purpose of improving postal services in Vietnam.
