September 14, 2015 Appeal for Organizations to Verify Utilization and Application of Multilingual Speech Translation Systems

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) made a global communications plan in order to eliminate the world’s language barriers and achieve global and free exchange, and has been working on the development of a sophisticated multilingual speech translation system by 2020 and putting it into practical use in society. In the hope of achieving an easy-to-use multilingual speech translation system for all people, MIC has decided to verify the utilization and application of multilingual speech translation systems in local communities, and make an appeal from today through October 16, 2015, for organizations implementing the same.
