September 18, 2015 Overview of Complaint and Consultation Cases over Telecommunications Services in FY2014

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) accepts complains and provide consultation over telecommunications services at the Telecommunications Consumer Consultation Centers and each Regional Bureau of Telecommunications (the Okinawa Office of Telecommunications in the case of Okinawa). MIC made a report on the number of complaint and consultation cases in fiscal 2014 and summarized case examples to prevent people from trouble in telecommunications services based on the complaint and consultation cases, and decided to release the same.

Number of complaint and consultation cases in fiscal 2014

MIC accepts complains and provide consultation over telecommunications services at the Telecommunications Consumer Consultation Centers and each Regional Bureau of Telecommunications, etc. In fiscal 2014, a total of 6,952 complaint and consultation cases over telecommunications services were received in fiscal 2014, which was 60 cases fewer than those received in the previous year (a reduction of approximately 0.9%). Among them, the Telecommunications Consumer Consultation Centers received 4,757 cases and the Regional Bureaus, etc. received 2,195 cases.
