November 4, 2016 Results of 2016 International Telecommunication Union (ITU) World Telecommunication Standardization Assembly (WTSA-16)

The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) World Telecommunication Standardization Assembly (WTSA) was held in the Republic of Tunisia (Yasmine Hammamet) from October 25 through November 3, 2016.

The WTSA is held every four years as the supreme decision-making meeting to decide a direction of standardization activities carried out by the International Telecommunication Union - Telecommunication Standardization Sector (ITU-T). During the Assembly, research theses for the next research term (2017 through 2020) were approved, the chairmen and the vice chairmen of the Study Groups (SGs) to carry out specific standardization activities were appointed, and recommendations and resolutions were approved.
