February 26, 2016 Implementation of Damage Prevention from Malware

In recent years, the number of damage cases, including those resulting in illegal remittance through Internet banking, caused by computer malware*1 has been on the increase continuously, and countermeasures against malware infection has been in demand in Japan. In view of the situation, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications started initiatives through the Advanced Cyber Threats response InitiatiVE (ACTIVE) in the prevention of damage to people from malware.

*1. Malware: Malware, short for malicious software, is any software used to infect computers and run remote operations, such as illegal money transfer and information theft, automatically.
