April 27, 2016 Accepting Applicants for 7th Robot Awards
MIC Minister Award Newly Established.The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) hereby announces that the acceptance of applicants for the 7th Robot Awards will start in order to commend excellent robots and peripheral technologies that have contributed to the development of robot technologies and robot applications.

The Robot Awards program is an institution established jointly by MIC, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Ministry (MEXT), the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW), the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF), and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MLIT). The program commends particularly excellent robots and peripheral technologies in order to promote the development of robot technologies and an expansion of robot applications. The program started in 2006, and the 7th Robot Awards will take place this year, for which MIC newly established the MIC Minister’s Award.
Applicants for the 7th Robot Awards will be accepted from Thursday, April 28, through Thursday, June 30, 2016. The contents of their proposals will be examined, each award, including the MIC Minister’s Award, will be determined for excellent robots and robot applications and announced, for which a commendation ceremony will be held at the Tokyo Big Sight on Wednesday, October 19, 2016.
