May 24, 2016 Technical Requirements for Upgrading LTE-Advanced 4G Systems and Advanced Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) Systems

Partial Reports from Information and Communications Council

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has received two reports from the Information and Communications Council (Chaired by Takeshi Uchiyamada, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Toyota Motor Corporation). One of them is on technical requirements for the upgrading of LTE-Advanced fourth-generation (4G) systems in partial response to MIC’s inquiry No. 81 of July 24, 1995, concerning measures for the effective use of frequencies of mobile phones. The other report is on technical requirements for the upgrading of advanced broadband wireless access (BWA) systems in partial response to MIC’s inquiry No. 2021 of February 27, 2013, concerning technical requirements for the upgrading of BWA systems using the 2.5 GHz band.
