March 21, 2017 Results of CeBIT (CeBIT) 2017

Japanese and German governmental representatives visited CeBIT 2017, an international information and communications technology trade fair held in Hannover, the Federal Republic of Germany, from Monday, March 20, through Friday, March 24, 2017. Naoki Ota, Special Advisor to the Minister, Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) and other MIC officials participated as well. Taking the opportunity of CeBIT 2017, Japan and Germany released the Hanover Declaration, a joint statement on collaboration signed by Sanae Takaichi (Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications), Hiroshige Seko (Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry), and H.E. Ms. Brigitte Zypries (Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy of Germany).
Furthermore, the Japanese representatives signed a joint press statement with H.E., Mr. Andrus Ansip, Vice President of the European Commission and H.E., Ms. Věra Jourová, Commissioner for Justice, Consumers and Gender Equality.
In addition, the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT) signed a memorandum of understanding with the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (German: Deutsches Forschungszentrum für Künstliche Intelligenz, DFKI) on IoT and AI cooperation.
