March 31, 2017 Holding Second Joint Symposium on Next Generation Artificial Intelligence Technology

In response to Prime Minister Abe’s instructions, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC), the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) established an Artificial Intelligence Technology Strategy Council as the government’s control tower to accelerate the research and development (R & D) and social implementation of artificial intelligence technology. The Council has today announced a roadmap of R & D objectives and industrialization of artificial intelligence.
MIC, MEXT, and METI have decided to hold the second Joint Symposium on Next Generation Artificial Intelligence Technology to announce the results of these efforts and to accelerate their cooperation with relevant organizations.
