Appeal for ideas and prototypes that will eliminate the world’s language barrier

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) and the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT, headed by Dr. Hideyuki Tokuda, President) are promoting a global communication plan aiming to eliminate the world’s language barrier.
Accordingly, MIC has decided jointly with NICT to hold a multilingual speech translation contest and make an appeal for innovative ideas and prototypes that will contribute to the elimination of the world’s language barrier with the aim of encouraging more people to use multilingual speech translation technology and accelerate social implementation of the technology.
