March 1, 2018 FY2018 Request for Implementation of International Broadcasting Addressed to Japan Broadcasting Corporation

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) submitted today an inquiry to the Radio Regulatory Council (Chaired by Susumu Yoshida, Specially Appointed Professor, Kyoto University) on a fiscal 2018 request for international broadcasting to be provided by Japan Broadcasting Corporation (also called NHK, headed by Ryoichi Yoshida, President). MIC received by return a report from the Radio Regulatory Council stating the appropriateness of the approval as inquired.

MIC will send the request to NHK on April 1 subject to the approval of the necessary budget from the Diet.
