September 21, 2018 Debrief Meeting on Telework Days 2018

In 2017, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) and Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and organizations concerned decided to designate July 24 as Telework Day and have been promoting a nationwide telework campaign since then with the participation of companies. The campaign for this annual initiative will continue until July 24, 2020, on which the opening of the Tokyo Olympic Games is scheduled. Approximately 950 organizations with 63 thousand people participated in the campaign on July 24, 2017, which was the first big step of this national campaign.
This year, MIC with the parties concerned promoted Telework Days to include July 24 and at least one more day from Monday, July 23 through Friday, July 27, 2018. As a result, 1,682 organizations with approximately 302,000 people participated.
In order to promote the further spread of telework by widely disseminating the results of this year’s Telework Days, MIC and METI have decided to hold a debrief meeting on Telework Days 201
