October 1, 2019 Second Multilingual Speech Translation Contest

Looking for innovative ideas and prototypes that will eliminate the language barrier

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) and the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT, headed by Dr. Hideyuki Tokuda, President) are promoting a global communication plan aiming to eliminate the world’s language barrier.
As part of this project, MIC has decided jointly with NICT to hold the second multilingual speech translation contest and make an appeal for innovative ideas and prototypes in order to accelerate the spread of multilingual speech translation technology and the emergence of a wide variety of translation services, new ideas, and prototypes that will eliminate the world’s language barrier. Awards, including the Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications’ Award, will be granted to excellent works.
