October 21, 2019 Debrief Meeting on Telework Days 2019

In 2017, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC), in cooperation with other ministries, government agencies, and organizations concerned, decided to designate July 24 as Telework Day and has been promoting a nationwide telework campaign since then with the participation of companies and other supporters. The campaign for this annual initiative will continue until July 24, 2020, on which the opening of the Tokyo Olympic Games is scheduled. Approximately 950 organizations with 63 thousand people and 1,682 organizations with approximately 302,000 people participated in the first campaign on July 24, 2017 and the second campaign on July 23 through July 27, 2018, respectively, thus showing a great spread as a national movement.
This year, MIC with the parties concerned promoted Telework Days from Monday, July 22 through Friday, September 6. As a result, 2,887 organizations with approximately 680,000 people participated.
In order to promote the further spread of telework by widely disseminating the results of this year’s Telework Days, a debrief meeting on Telework Days 2019 will be held accordingly.
