December 18, 2019 Results of Appeal for Opinions on FY2019 Survey on Utilization of Radio Waves for Mobile Phones and Nationwide BWA, along with Evacuation Results of Survey

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) evaluated a fiscal 2019 survey on the utilization of radio waves for mobile phones and nationwide broadband wireless access (BWA) and made an appeal for opinions from Saturday, November 9 through Monday, December 9, 2019, on a fiscal 2019 draft evaluation result of the utilization of radio waves for mobile phones and nationwide BWA. With consideration of the result of the opinions received, MIC submitted today an inquiry to the Radio Regulatory Council (Chaired by Susumu Yoshida, Professor Emeritus, Kyoto University) and received by return a report from the Radio Regulatory Council stating its approval as inquired. Accordingly, MIC has decided to announce the result of the opinions and the fiscal 2019 evaluation result of the utilization of radio waves for mobile phones and nationwide BWA.

1. Result of appeal for opinions

MIC made an appeal for opinions from Saturday, November 9 through Monday, December 9, 2019, on the draft of the fiscal 2019 evaluation result of the utilization of radio waves for mobile phones and nationwide BWA (hereinafter referred to as “evaluation result”) and received seven opinions.

2. Report from Radio Regulatory Council and announcement of evaluation result

With consideration of the opinions received on the evaluation result, MIC submitted today an inquiry to the Radio Regulatory Council and received by return a report from the Radio Regulatory Council stating its approval as inquired.
