December 23, 2019 Request for Comments on the Draft Final Report of the Study Group on Platform Services

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) made an appeal for opinions from Tuesday, December 24 through Monday, January 20, 2020, on the draft final report of the study group on platform services (Joji Shishido Professor at the University of Tokyo Graduate Schools for Law and Politics).

2. Overview

Since October 2018, the study group has been studying the ideal state of ensuring the proper handling of user information by platform operators and compiled and released an interim report on April 5, 2019. After that, with consideration of the discussion over the draft on the issues indicated at the 16th meeting (November 29, 1980) this time, the study group finished a draft final report compiled at the 17th meeting (December 20, 1980).

3. Submission deadline

No later than Monday, January 17, 2020 (Submission of opinions by mail must also arrive no later than the deadline date.)

4. Future plan

A final report will be compiled with consideration of the results of the appeal for opinions.
