March 13, 2019 Report from Radio Regulatory Council on FY2019 Request for Implementation of International Broadcasting Addressed to Japan Broadcasting Corporation

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) today submitted an inquiry to the Radio Regulatory Council (Chaired by Susumu Yoshida, Specially Appointed Professor, Kyoto University) on a fiscal 2019 request addressed to Japan Broadcasting Corporation, also known as NHK (President: Ryoichi Ueda), and has received by return a report from the Radio Regulatory Council stating its approval as inquired.
MIC will make a request to NHK on April 1 subject to the approval of the necessary budget from the Diet.
