January 7, 2020 Public Appeal for Proposals on Subsidies for Projects to Support Radio System Dissemination (Projects to Support Solution of Bad Reception of Commercial Radio)

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has decided to make a public appeal for proposals on subsidies for Projects to Support Radio System Dissemination (projects to support the solution of bad reception of commercial radio), as specified in the submission procedure.
Fiscal 2020 projects have been included in the fiscal 2020 initial budget proposal, and the MIC makes a public appeal in advance so that the projects can be started promptly after the budget bill passes the Diet. Therefore, it should be kept in mind that the implementation of the projects is subject to the passage of the budget bill and that the contents of the projects are subject to change.

2. Projects outline

1. Implementing entities

Prefectures, municipalities (including coordinating entities of multiple municipalities), specific terrestrial basic broadcasters (including coordinating entities of multiple specific terrestrial basic broadcasters), and general incorporated associations (typical)

2. Project description

As per Article 3 (1) of the Subsidy Guidelines on Projects to Support the Development of Broadcasting Networks (hereinafter referred to as “the Subsidy Guidelines”).

3. Method of submitting proposals

1. Period of submission

From Tuesday, January 7, and no later than noon on Monday, January 27, 2020.

2. Method of application

After preparing the documents under the Subsidy Guidelines and Public Appeal Guidelines and bring or mail one original, a copy, and a set of electronic media, such as a CD-R, to the competent and the application guidelines, bring or mail one electronic copy, such as one original, one duplicate, and CD-R, to the competent Regional Bureau of Telecommunications (the Okinawa Office of Telecommunications in the case of Okinawa).
