January 29, 2020 Implementation Policy on 2020 Telework Days

The Ministries Concerned Liaison Conference on Teleworking Promotion (membered by ministerial officials, including the State Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications, the State Minister of Health, Labor and Welfare, the State Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, and Ministry of Land, the State Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism) held a meeting today and decided on the implementation policy on Telework Days for 2020.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism have been collaborating with related ministries and organizations and implementing Telework Days(*) since 2017 to promote the spread of telework throughout Japan and to alleviate traffic congestion during the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games since 2017.
In 2019, they called for the implementation of the third Telework Days from July 22 through September 6, 2,019, in which 2,887 organizations with about 680,000 people participated, and the campaign has been showing a huge spread as a national movement.

The Ministries Concerned Liaison Conference on Teleworking Promotion held a meeting today and decided on Telework Days 2020 from July 20 through September 6, including the period of the 2020 Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games, as a nationwide campaign to be called for. Accordingly, the implementation policy of the campaign is open to the public.

Details on how to register with the campaign will be announced separately as soon as they are decided.
