January 30, 2020 Holding Result Report Meeting on Project to Promote Planning and Promotion Structure Building for Regional IoT Implementation Organizing

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) adopted a total of six organizations in fiscal 2019 and has been helping them in the formulation of concrete promotion plans on regional IoT implementation since then under MIC’s Project to Promote Planning and Promotion Structure Building for Regional IoT Implementation Organizing. This project provides assistance to local public entities that are not making progress in the introduction of regional IoT in order to solve specific regional issues due to their insufficient knowledge and expertise in spite of their desires.
In this connection, MIC has decided to hold a result report meeting, where organizations that participated will report their results for the purpose of spreading the outcome of this project and exchanging opinions with other municipalities and businesses who are interested in the contents of the plans formulated by these organization.

Time and date: 1:00 to 5:30 pm on Tuesday, February 18, 2020 (Opens at 12:30 pm)
Venue: Meeting Room #2, Zenkoku Toshi Kaikan (2-4-2 Hirakawacho, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo)

1. Performance report from the selected organization

FY2019 participating organizations and regional IoT implementation promotion planning area:
Kasama, Ibaraki Prefecture (transportation and firefighting)
Fuchu, Hiroshima Prefecture (disaster prevention and agriculture)
Ozu, Ehime Prefecture (disaster prevention)
Nobeoka, Miyazaki Prefecture (education)
Miyakonojo, Miyazaki Prefecture (administration, disaster prevention, and agriculture)
Soo, Kagoshima Prefecture(disaster prevention and agriculture)

2. Exchange of opinions on regional IoT implementation promotion plans and others

3. Application for participation

  • Participation fee: Free
  • Number of participants: 100 (first come, first served)
    Acceptance of applications will be closed as soon as the number of applications reaches the upper limit.
  • Application for participation: Apply by email to the person in charge of the Project to Promote Planning and Promotion Structure Building for Regional IoT Implementation Organizing at Nomura Research Institute, a commissioned business operator (chiiki-iot-apply2020@nri.co.jp).
